The ‘Get Going’ training project in Barnsley is in full swing and great progress is being made even though we are only in the early stages.
Being a step away from the traditional E2E course the GET GOING programme is designed to encourage personal development, motivational and confidence-building skills for young people. However it is delivered in ways different to sitting in a classroom by including sporting and outward bound activities.
After some pretty hardcore health and safety training, a trip was taken to visit Pugneys Country Park in Wakefield for young people to get into the fresh air and explore the surroundings. Being only a short drive the trip was a huge success allowing young people to be exposed to different places of interest literally on their doorstep, to which they were pleasantly surprised. Some team-building activities were carried out involving the young people having to use their initiative and work on interacting with each other which helped build good friendships within the group.
Keep up the good work guys!
