Rounders on a sunny evening

As the weather gets warmer and the scent of spring blossom looms in the air out the youths come out to play, rounder’s wa hey.

With a bat and a ball, three out of four poles and the enthusiasm of Kevin Peterson, Jawad Akram challenged Kinsley youths to a rounder’s game to remember. In fact the only thing that made it forgettable was the fact that no one was bothered to keep score. What was important was that young people engaged and were happy to just do something, no competitiveness, supporting each other to learn how to play a game. Rules were shouted out to those who didn’t know them and even at the end of the game there were no large celebrations or mocking the losing team- just laid back fun in the sun.

Bring on the summer and many more chilled out sessions of quality youth work.
