The UK Government, through the Department for Education, has published a paper called ‘Young people’s involvement in decision making’. This paper puts forward ideas about how the UK Government should support, and involve, young people in public decision making. It focuses on the more formal ways young people have their say, outside of school – for example through youth councils, Young Mayors or UK Youth Parliament.
This paper is to get people’s views on their ideas. The British Youth Council (BYC), the UK Youth Parliament and the Young Mayors Network want to hear your views on the Government’s proposals so we can feed them directly back to the Department for Education. The Department for Education’s decisions only affect England but we welcome the responses of young people aged 25 and under across the UK.

This paper released by the Government is really interesting. I’d recommend anyone interested in youth participation to give it a read.
Also, this survey doesn’t take too long and will really help young peoples opinion get heard on if the Government’s suggestions are good or not. After all, that’s what participation is all about!
Thanks for highlighting this survey, hope I win the voucher!
