Association goes Bronze

investors in people bronze award

The Youth Association was informed today that it has been successful in its recent review by Investors in People and is to receive a Bronze Award.  The award recognises the great work done by The Youth Association to develop and use the talents of its staff and volunteers.  TYA received its first Investors in People award in 2007 and the prestigious new Bronze accreditation is a clear indication that continuous progress has been made during the last 3 years.

Independent assessor, Janice Chattaway, had no hesitation in recommending The Association for a Bronze standard award at the end of her two days’ intensive interviewing of staff and volunteers.  In her feedback to managers at TYA, she felt confident that many of the criteria needed to achieve a Silver award were already being satisfied by the whole TYA team.  In her report she emphasised the great practice showed by TYA, including;

  • Open, honest and constructive working relationships and the pride of all staff in TYA
  • The outstanding level of involvement of all colleagues in decision-making
  • Innovative and effective recruitment methods, and
  • The involvement of all stakeholders in making plans and strategies

Although we are delighted at the news, The Association doesn’t intend to leave it at Bronze level.  We have already made arrangements to go for Gold in the next two years.  Thanks and congratulations go to everyone and special thanks to Janice Chattaway for making the whole assessment process so enjoyable and useful.
