Funding Opportunities – February 2011

Women and girls
Financial assistance is available for groups to carry out projects that advance justice and equality for women and girls in the UK. The total fund is worth £100,000. It is expected that only two or three proposals will be funded. Rosa runs grants rounds on issues within its key areas: Economic Justice, Health & Well-Being, Leadership and Safety.

Charitable activity

The Garfield Weston Foundation provides funding for projects in the UK with no specific priorities for funding and a wide range of charitable activity being supported. There is no strict limit on the size of the grant given as every application is considered on its own merits. In general, the Trust looks for organisations to have raised the majority of funding through local or statutory sources before an application is made.

Young and disabled people
The Hedley Foundation is a charitable foundation which supports young people, disabled people and the terminally ill.  Currently about 70% of their budget goes to young people. Few grants exceed £5,000 and most go to charities where they can make an impact. They do not support large or national appeals.
