Throughout this academic year, our male youth workers have made a meaningful impact across colleges in Wakefield and Barnsley, engaging with young men on issues that matter to them in 2025. By building trusting relationships and delivering informal education, we have supported young men to explore and challenge topics that directly affect their lives.
Our Future Man programme is designed not only to increase participation and engagement but also to break down barriers and tackle gender stereotypes. By providing a safe and supportive space, we empower young men to open up and share their thoughts with positive male role models, encouraging deeper conversations and personal growth.
Over the year, students across various colleges have taken part in a diverse range of workshops, covering topics such as positive and toxic masculinity, the impact of social media, mental health, violence against women and girls, gang culture, and the influence of the manosphere and incel communities.
This year has been a success, and we are excited to return to the colleges from September to work with more young men and build on this positive momentum.
