Young People Lead the Way in Exploring Leeds’ Creative Arts Scene
Over the past two years, young people have spearheaded an inspiring project to investigate funding challenges and barriers within Leeds’ creative arts scene. With training in interview techniques, they gathered insights from their peers in arts organisations across the city.
The findings were brought to life through a collaborative effort with Mediorite, resulting in a powerful short documentary film.
As part of the project, the young researchers also planned and hosted key events, including the Pears Celebration Events, Leeds Community Foundation’s Why Culture Matters panel, and their very own film premiere.
In an exciting outcome, two of our Peer Researchers have taken their leadership to the next level by joining The Youth Association’s Board as Young Trustees.
This project showcases the power of young people to drive meaningful change in their communities and the creative arts sector.
