In December 2024, young people from Leeds recorded the first episode of a new podcast and radio show where young people from Cultuur in de Wijk in Zwolle, The Netherlands and The Youth Association in Yorkshire discuss crime and safety.
The podcast was the first of several recordings, where young people in South and West Yorkshire can share their experiences about life in the UK, in comparison with life in the Netherlands.
The podcast began an important conversation about how safe young people feel in their area, what steps professionals must take to improve this and how a global partnership can help to share best practice.
Over the next 6 months, young people from Leeds, Wakefield and Barnsley will each have an opportunity to record a podcast with Chapel FM and Cultuur in De Wjik, discussing topics important to them. Watch out for the next episode, all around the influence of social media.
